Concorde, APCOS and its renewal.
The civil aviation memory commission (CMAC) led by Mrs. Ariane GILOTTE, the group of engineers and senior civil aviation executives in activity and retirees (GIACRE), in partnership with the aeronautical association of France (3AF), organized a videoconference on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 with the theme:
Concorde, APCOS and its renewal.
After Ariane Gilotte’s presentation, Pierre Grange and André Rouayroux spoke successively to talk about the APCOS 2050 project.
Pierre GRANGE airline pilot and test pilot has presented the APCOS (Association of Professionals of Concorde and Supersonic), created in January 1990, is originally a club seeking to bring together those who, in France, worked on Concorde.
After the end of the flights, André Rouayroux was director of production for the documentary "A sky signed Concorde" directed by Loïc Pourageaux.
This documentary was a trigger and the APCOS began an inventory of the available archives and the creation of an image bank "The people of Concorde” produced from interviews with the very actors of the Concorde epic, suited to tell the genesis of the program (1962–1975), and the on-line operation of the aircraft (1976-2003).
From September 2021, APCOS, through an "APCOS 2050" program, is reinventing itself.
The goal is to build a heritage memory of the human adventure of Concorde. It gives itself the means to set up a new image, a new dynamic, new tools (site and review) so that we can continue to talk about Concorde tomorrow and after tomorrow, and answer the questions that visitors of Concorde museums all over the world, will ask themselves.
André ROUAYROUX will develop the presentation of the website https://www.concordereference.fr, site which will become day after day, like its title, the reference.
Time has gone by far too quickly, but now anyone who has not followed this videoconference will be able to regularly consult the site in French or in the language of Shakespeare.
