EXPANSION OF THE DELTA MUSEUM SITE

Following the work in 2012 of the T-7 tramway, and the construction of the new bypass, which today bears the name of Bernard LATHIERE*, the site originally occupied by the Delta Museum has increased from 33,000 m2 to 3,600 m2 which caused the disappearance of the Mercure F-BTTJ and the Caravelle F-BVPZ.

*A little history:

Bernard Lathière has had an exceptional career holding the following positions:

- In 1968 director of air transport where his essential role concerns aeronautical construction and the Concorde project, he devotes his energy to this program of which he measures the prestigious benefits

- In 1975 was given the position of Managing Director of Airbus Industries. In ten years more than 600 Airbus will be sold.

- After chairing the National Centre for Foreign Trade,

- In 1986 was appointed Chairman of Aéroports de Paris, until 1992. It was in 1986 that he decided to sell the Concorde 02 F-WTSA to the city of Athis Mons.

To allow us to carry out new projects, on February 16, 2022, the municipal council of our city APPROVED with 36 votes FOR the terms of a new amendment to the site occupancy agreement and to extend the right-of-way disposal of the Delta Museum.

This increase in the area of the land, of which here is the plan below, will begin with the installation of the Radom of the Orly tower.

The modification of the closing was carried out on March 26, 28, 29 and 30. LOXAM Athis Mons graciously loaned an auger, Mr. Carlos Martin offered the cement, sand and gravel needed to seal the posts. The work was carried out by volunteers and members of the association.

To build the fence, the association bought 40 m of new fence from its own funds in addition to the existing fence which was moved and reused.

Here is a brief report of the work:

Saturday end of the first day, appointment is made for Monday to begin the dismantling of the old fence which requires a lot of attention because it is in very good condition it will limit the expenses as much as possible.

The space gained will be fitted out to receive a 62 m2 platform where the Radom of the former ground radar of the Orly control tower will be installed in a few months, of which here is an artist's view, and a better layout presentation for the Mirages.

On Saturday and Sunday, a second team led by Quentin and Lasmi took advantage of the lifting platform, again a free loan from LOXAM Athis Mons, to start cleaning the SA, which was covered with a layer of sand from the desert a few days earlier. The weather was with them and almost the whole plane was cleaned in two days at least in the parts that we cannot reach with our scaffolding.

Many thanks to: LOXAM Athis Mons, Boris, Carlos, Fausto, Lasmi, Marcel, Quentin Robert, Salim and Tony who came to help voluntarily.

Now the result of the work done by our friends is visible from afar...
