It's done…
Three years after the last big clean-up, SA is clean again.
For two years we were unable to clean the plane due to restrictions on the use of water.
The pollution had its effect and the left side of the plane facing northeast, which is only sunny for a few hours a day, showed serious traces of dirt.
Less visible in good weather because illuminated by the sun the right side facing south-east seemed cleaner “from a distance”
To give you a better idea, here is a small series of images to show you the condition of the plane.
From a distance it's not too obvious.
But closer it becomes less bright.
As we get even closer, it becomes intolerable!
At this stage the only solution that is necessary is to contact a company that we have heard of and which is specialized in cleaning aircraft and which regularly takes care of the aircraft of the company Tarmac Aerosave in Tarbes and Sabena Technics in Perpignan.
Contact is made with HYDRONET to see the conditions and possibilities for an intervention,
Very quickly we received a quote which is certainly important in the association's budget but we must do it to protect and make the plane presentable.
Appointment is made for this Tuesday, March 19 at 8:00 a.m.
The site is soaked by three weeks of rain but work must still begin immediately.
Even stuck in the grass, the first van immediately begins work.
The second vehicle driven by a “quad champion » crosses most of the lawn without a hitch and arrives at a concrete part and does not take long to start work.
As it was absolutely necessary to move the mired van, a long quest began to rent an off-road vehicle. We receive a first refusal from L... a second major rental company has a machine but does not have a driver to deliver it...
Meanwhile the team takes out the brushes and poles and without wasting time attacks the underside of the plane.
Finally a new neighbouring construction materials rental company offers us and brings us rubber plates which will be placed under the wheels and the vehicle is immediately moved using the Nedroma recovery truck, and the smiles return.
Work resumes immediately and will not stop until the end of the afternoon.
Marcel… the well-known crow from the site, a little worried, finds that there is too much movement around his perch but the work continues and he will have to leave very quickly...
The day progresses and it becomes difficult to take beautiful images but the important thing is that the work is progressing well.
A beautiful day in the company of a team who know their work inside out, and whose creator of the company, retired today, wanted to support his two sons who took over from him to continue their provide valuable advice for carrying out the mission.
After a little snack that we had together, talking of course about aviation, cars and lots of other things, like old friends who have known each other forever, the team will leave for a new mission in the north of Paris.
Thank you to HYDRONET for this wonderful work accomplished.
