VACATION DUTY (Part 1)

The replacement of the Mirage 3B wheels was stopped before the holidays because in the batch of four wheels received in Châteaudun before the pandemic, there was only one wheel for the 3 B.

Here is the difference:

Mirage 3B

Mirage 3 RD

This is due to the different braking system on the two machines, the brake disc of the 3 RD is outside the rim compared to the 3 B where the disc is housed inside the rim.

During our research to find a new wheel or rim, we contacted Mr Claude TOURNIAIRE President of the association “Friends of the 5th squadron” who was of great help to us in discovering the coveted rim. And as we were also looking for the canopy for our 3 B, damaged by a storm, he suggested that we come and see it in the museum in Orange because he could certainly help us.

To combine business with pleasure, a visit to Orange has been scheduled for August 19 in the afternoon.

When leaving the highway a first mirage...

In less than 5 minutes we arrive in front of the entrance to the museum and there…. Not just Mirages!

We were welcomed with such kindness and kindness by Mr. Tourniaire that we will continue the rest of this article in a few days.
