A new visit to the forward hold.

In our article of July 25, 2019, we had already talked about this front hold which is no

longer like the first three machines with their emergency crew evacuation system, nor

the production aircrafts which used the holds to carry luggage.

To rationally use the space and to reorganize the storage a little in the rear hold, we

decided to store the boxes containing the front windows of the visor and the cylinders

by storing it in the front hold.

We discovered new markings and remnants of fasteners and cables that were used

during flight testing

We were already intrigued during our previous visit by this cloth rolled up at the

bottom of the hold since 1976.

It is by unrolling it that we will understand its usefulness.

As on pallets in cargo planes, a net keeps the goods in place, here this cloth had to

cover the boxes of equipment or spare parts during flights, keeping them in place and

preventing them from moving.

The cloth is attached at the bottom of the hold to a bar by fabric straps which reinforce

the top of the canvas and end on a cross bar where the strap is attached.

We install our visor glass transport containers in the flat central part of the hold. You

can see in the photo below rings on either side of the hold to attach various small

packages.

After covering our containers and as there was still space, with Tony we decided to

add our stock of M2V* which will be more accessible if needed

* Hydraulic oil specific to Concorde that was offered to us by Exxon-Mobil, donation

organized by the Heritage Concorde association following initial surveys by the

Concorde team at Le Bourget who discovered the existence of this stock at Exxon-

Mobil. This oil is mainly stored at the Brooklands Museum and is intended to be used

in the Concorde needing it and therefore a future use in the SA

The hold is not completely full, we have covered all the packages with the cloth and

we attach the two straps to the crossbar

SA can cross trouble-free areas of turbulence the packages will not move...
