A NEW F-WTSA DIORAMA

After Lionel's diorama representing our aircrafts at the museum, Quentin started before his departure for Arizona and its heat waves, this diorama representing the SA in Gander during its EXTREME COLD tests...

Here is the image representing the F-WTSA and the technicians well wrapped up under the plane at the airport of Gander (Newfoundland in Canada) which inspired our friend Quentin.

Here are some images of the realization in two stages of this superb diorama.

Before starting, the inspector verifies the conformity before giving his agreement.

The first part began in 2020, with the assembly of the first elements.

Before closing the fuselage, even the non-visible parts are finished.

And now begins the assembly part of the fuselage…

As Quentin knows the SA well, he recreated the second HF antenna on the fuselage (which does not exist on production aircrafts and on the model).

Compliance is checked and the work can continue.

Different decals will be used for the specific decoration of the SA.

And as always everything is checked in the documentation.

The assembly and decoration is completed just before Quentin leaves for the heat waves of Phoenix, Arizona.

After having brilliantly finished the practical part with temperatures close to + 40° and obtained his CPL, as soon as he returned a little surprise awaited Quentin from his friends at the museum, the 1/3 replica of the F-WTSA's yoke.

Resumption of the second part of the project, finish the diorama but at a temperature of - 40° as during the extreme cold tests in Gander.

When the work is finished, the diorama joins the neighbouring showcase, Lionel’s one.

It should be noted that, when the actors for the diorama do not exist... today we print them in 3D.

A big thank you to Quentin for this diorama, which is a vibrant tribute to the F-WTSA, as well as to all the real actors of the photo, which served as the starting point for this magnificent achievement.
